History: The graduate program in earth literacy began in 1998 delivering courses through a distance/intensive format.

Mission: Earth Literacy is interdisciplinary learning that fosters the capacity to understand the world in order to promote sustainability of the planet as a habitat for life. It impacts one's world view and way of life. The Earth Literacy degree at SMWC provides a wide range of career options.
